It is a very exciting time in the MediaComplete offices as they step into this new chapter. Don Moen, who has been a strong influence in contemporary worship for more than 25 years as a worship leader, songwriter and president of Integrity Music, has a clear vision for the future of MediaShout that is both innovative and inspiring. Todd Temple now takes the position as VP and will continue as the Chief Product Developer challenged to continue designing the most powerful and cutting edge multimedia presentation tools. To sum it all up, the next few months will prove to be very exciting as the company gains speed on a freshly paved road of industry leadership.

MediaShout Fixes SongSelect Issues

The nice guys at MediaShout released another patch that fixes the limited compatibility with SongSelect.

Build update 726 puts things back to normal. MediaShout now grabs the data from the download of the text file and imports the song directly into the ShoutSinger library. It really is impressive considering they have had to completely change the way this happens due to the major security updates that CCLI made to its SongSelect service. If you have not yet gotten the latest updates, go to Help>Check For Updates within MediaShout and download it now. IF you do not have internet access on the MediaShout computer, you can download it to a flash drive on another PC by going to the web site. This update is currently only available for Version 3 Standard. Updates for Express are soon to follow.

Thanks again to the determination of the programmers at MediaComplete and the CCLI IT department for making this process quick and simple again.

SongSelect Changes

Many of you who have used the shortcut in MediaShout’s ShoutSinger to access the Song Select database were disappointed this weekend when it showed the page as unable to be loaded. Apparently CCLI has changed their website without giving a heads up to the software companies that promote and incorporate their service.

Here is what I received from CCLI.
SongSelect Upgrade May Affect Worship Planning Software

CCLI has made some modifications to improve the performance of SongSelect and enhance your worship planning experience. Some of these changes may affect the way some of our subscribers use worship planning software programs such as Media Shout, SongShow Plus, Sunday Plus, Easy Worship, etc. If you discover any difficulties with your software functionality in relation to SongSelect, please contact your software provider for technical assistance. Thank you for choosing SongSelect as your comprehensive worship planning song database.

CCLI License Holder Services

This is the response from MediaShout found on the User fourm

As of yesterday, CCLI has changed the access point to their SongSelect website. Because of the change in link and a tweak in the code, users will be unable to access SongSelect or downlad songs directly from SongSelect through the MediaShout interface. We are currently working on a new build to fix this issue.

We originally hoped that a new build might be available today, but since CCLI changed more code than just the login page, we’ve had to delay the release to get everything working again. We currently anticipate a new build being available Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.

Users can always still access SongSelect by going to www.songselect.com or portal.ccli.com and log in from there. They’ll then need to manually import songs into MediaShout using the ‘old’ method until we can release a new build. Our Knowledge Base has an article detailing the steps necessary for users who need help. (http://mediashout.com/support/kb/custom.asp?a=4&q=85)

We will post status updates to this issue here, as well as on the MediaShout page at GetSatisfaction (http://getsatisfaction.com/mediashout)

I know that they are working very hard to create a patch that will remedy the issue and things should be back to normal soon.

To get an email when the update is available send an email to msupdates@news.mediashout.com with the subject: Subscribe. You should receive notification of the build release that fixes the SongSelect import feature.

Thanks to the programmers at MediaaShout who do their best to fix the situation when blindsided.

Website Redo

I thought it was time to redo the Clearpoint Presentations website and try something different and easier.
So far its not easier but I think I’ll get there soon. Thank you for your patience.

New Distributor

For those of you who have visited our store you may have noticed that I only have one computer available. The distributor I used for Asus computers decided not to carry the notebooks and not to tell me. You can imagine how surprised I was when I went to check the prices and found nothing there.

I should have a new distributor set up in the next day or two. As soon as that goes through there will be a large number of products available to me which will means there will be some interesting new products available to you at a great price. Again I apologize for the absence of Asus products. Stay tuned for fresh updates and postings here.

MediaShout is still the driving force behind the store and all that is offered, but there will be some non-presentation related offerings available.

Prostar has some great machines and which is why I offer their products. They are able to be customized to meet your needs.

I am very excited about the great products we will add to the store.

MediaShout 3.5

MediaShout has released the beta of version 3.5 bearing some of the most requested features of all time. The biggest feature is the ability to have multiple backgrounds for each song. MediaShout 3.5 will allow you to set a different background for each stanza if you desire. We will address the details of this in a later blog. The other big deal is the addition of dissolve transitions for text over video for subcues.

Here is the list of features in the registered user beta forum.

  • page text dissolves (Text, Bible and Lyric cues)
  • stanza-specific BGs (Lyric cues)
  • new stanza types (Lyric cues)
  • in-text verse numbers (Bible cues)
  • enhanced songselect downloading (ShoutSinger; in Express now)
  • select and fire cues by number (Script window)
  • Get Shoutable Media link (Help menu and main toolbar; in Express now)
  • Song Group assignment in Import Songs wizards (ShoutSinger)
  • “One verse per paragraph” pagination option (Bible cues)
  • Bible selection controls in CPB (Bible cues)
  • insert Bible passage into text from CPB FG tab, Insert button menu (Text, Bible and Lyric cues)

I am also excited about the fire by number feature. I look forward to seeing how it will impact typical operation and efficiency. I will be testing 3.5 over the next week or two and give you my feedback and the opinions of users trying it out.

Look for a final update to be released to the public soon.

Luminous Bible Book Backs from Defy Creative

Hot off the DVD burner is Defy Creative’s new Luminous Bible Book Back videos for MediaShout 3.2.

These videos create a powerful impression while presenting scripture. These videos were designed for MediaShout’s Bible Book Back feature so that selected scriptures automatically pull up the associated video with the matching Bible book title.
For example, select john 14:1-7 and the video background that is automatically set as the background has John in the animated text.

Here’s the bonus you won’t find with other Bible Book Back collections, Luminous comes with a blank looping video that allows you to add your own text for sermon notes or simply for transition from one scripture to another. With the blank Luminous video, transitions from one bible cue to another never look like the background restarts.

To add to the value, each DVD comes with a full set of Luminous videos in both WMV and MOV (h.264) formats. The WMV set is installed with Installshield into the Book Backs folder however the MOV files are available to copy and paste into the same location instead of the WMV’s.

We use these every week in our services and have had very positive feedback.

Check them out today and pick up this great set of Luminous Bible Book Backs.
